How to treat semen that does not liquefy effectively

Patient's question:

Where is the best treatment for nonliquefying semen? What are the reasons causing it? Where is the best treatment for nonliquefying semen?

Doctor's answer:

The semen of males is initially in a liquid state when it is expelled outside the body. Within a very short period of time, it solidifies into a gel-like or clotted state. After approximately 10 to 30 minutes, the semen liquefies into a watery liquid. This process is known as semen liquefaction, and this phenomenon is a normal physiological occurrence. If semen is expelled outside the body and remains in a gel-like state for less than 30 minutes, it indicates a pathological condition known as semen non-liquefaction, or prolonged liquefaction time. The common causes of semen non-liquefaction include seminal vesiculitis and prostatitis, which lead to insufficient secretion of fibrinolysin by the prostate. Additionally, a lack of trace elements (such as magnesium and zinc) can contribute to this condition. The key to treating semen non-liquefaction lies in curing the diseases affecting the seminal vesicles and prostate. Most patients experience improvement in semen liquefaction after their prostate and seminal vesicle conditions are resolved.
