What are the causes of urinary urgency

Patient's question:

Hello doctor, I have had symptoms of frequent urination and urgency for several months and have been taking medication for over two months. The previous month, I took levofloxacin, Dantrolene, and Tamsulosin, and the symptoms were reduced. However, after having sex twice, the symptoms worsened again, so the doctor prescribed another month of Azithromycin and two other medications, which I took for a month. The symptoms improved, but after having sex once more, they became severe again. I don’t know what to do next and should I continue to focus on taking the medication?

Doctor's answer:

Male, 42 years old, frequent urination and urgency for several months. Ultrasound shows: bilateral small renal cysts, heterogeneous echo in the prostate. Prostate fluid routine shows: white blood cells 3, lecithin corpuscles 0-3/HP. After medication, symptoms improved, but they worsened after sexual intercourse. What should I do? Urinalysis is needed. Urinary tract infections may also manifest as symptoms of frequent urination and urgency. If the urinalysis shows white blood cells, indicating a urinary tract infection, a midstream urine culture and sensitivity test can be performed. Based on the test results, sensitive antibiotics can be used.
