Patient's question:
Azoospermia! Tried many sperm production drugs with no success! Testicular biopsy and semen analysis have been done. Experts, what treatment would be best for me?Doctor's answer:
Hello: The treatment for azoospermia primarily involves additional therapies based on the underlying cause of the condition.① In cases of obstructive azoospermia, treatments such as vasovasostomy, epididymovasostomy, artificial varicocele embolization, epididymal sperm retrieval, and transurethral incision may be applied depending on the specific situation.
② For non-obstructive azoospermia, if the cause is endocrine disorders (e.g., hypogonadotropic hypogonadism), treatments such as gonadotropin-releasing hormone (GnRH) and gonadotropin therapy, as well as testosterone replacement therapy, may be used. If the cause is a pituitary tumor, surgical removal is recommended. Pituitary microadenomas and idiopathic hyperprolactinemia can be treated with bromocriptine. In cases of primary testicular failure accompanied by varicocele, varicocelectomy should be performed.
