Where can I find hope for treating varicocele?

Patient's question:

Where is the best place to treat varicocele? Doctor, I would like to ask, I have no sperm, bilateral varicocele, small testicles, and high FSH levels of 5 units. I haven't had a biopsy yet. Do you have any hope for treatment? Where is it better to treat in Shandong? Please give guidance and help from the doctor. Thank you.

Doctor's answer:

When varicocele occurs, due to blood stasis in the spermatic veins, it can lead to an increase in testicular temperature, causing the testicular temperature to drop by 1℃ to 2℃. If the temperature remains elevated for a long period, it can affect sperm production in the testes, resulting in azoospermia and oligozoospermia. The epididymis also helps in the maturation of sperm. It is more common in young and middle-aged adults. The incidence of left varicocele is higher. Those with asymptomatic or mild symptoms can wear elastic pants or use a scrotal support band. Men with severe symptoms and infertility due to varicocele accompanied by abnormal sperm should undergo surgical treatment. Currently, surgical treatment is the most direct approach.
