Patient's question:
Recently, I've always felt pain in my testicles, and this week alone I've had a fever 21 times. Usually, I feel cold, and when I take a bath, I touch my testicles and feel like there's a lot of liquid inside. Please ask: How is it best to treat epididymitis?Doctor's answer:
Epididymitis is a common disease among male reproductive organs, more prevalent in middle-aged and young adults. Since the causative bacteria are gram-negative bacilli and gram-positive cocci, it is also known as non-specific epididymitis. The pathogenic bacteria rarely enter through the bloodstream and lymphatic system; it is mostly secondary to prostatitis, seminal vesiculitis, and urethritis. The inflammation is usually unilateral. It needs to be differentiated from epididymal tuberculosis and filariasis. The former has localized inflammation in the tail of the epididymis in the early stage, with the boundary between the epididymis and testis disappearing in the later stage, the skin often adhering to the epididymis, and even the recurrence of sinuses. The latter shows thickening of the scrotal skin, and microfilariae can be detected in blood samples taken at night.
