Concise English-Chinese Dictionary of Communication Studies

Features: In terms of translation, if a term is already in Chinese usage, this dictionary strives to maintain it. For others, the compilers translate them independently. During the translation process, it was found that some terms were relatively straightforward to handle, while others required adaptive measures. For instance, some terms had to prioritize clarity over elegance for easier understanding. For example, the commonly used word "advance," when used in the context of communication. The compilation of this dictionary primarily relies on the terminology and common expressions of research subjects within the six major fields of communication studies as defined in Appendix II. Additionally, references were made to communication-related professional journals and published English and Chinese dictionaries on communication. In Chinese, although dictionaries for journalism and mass communication have already been published, as these fields are closely related to communication studies, this dictionary also includes terms relevant to them.
