Features: Without the determination to cultivate the quality of one's own cultural heritage, one cannot make their own voice heard in the world of academic and intellectual discourse. If one remains content with merely introducing and repairing, or even takes others' words as the foundation of knowledge, it may not lead to the downfall of the nation, but it will certainly lead to the decline of learning. Regarding ubiquitous communication, we cannot describe it with any tangible thing. We are moving into an era of gases. "Diffusion" in Chinese is precisely a concept of gaseous distribution—beyond "mercury flowing like the ground," extending to "traveling with the wind." It seems there is always a voice reminding us: people's reliance on ubiquitous communication will be just like their reliance on air; one must actively believe in it while being passively breathes it. We must frankly admit that for future generations, the significance of ubiquitous communication will be as important as the significance of humans.
This series attempts to embody the style of "new academia," advocating for the originality of academia, the objectivity of thought, the frontier nature of topics, the tool-like nature of texts, and the interactivity of perspectives. It advocates for taking action with the body, pursuing genuine knowledge, starting from small things, and opening up broad horizons of thought. Or one might ask, if contributions are insufficient, what then? The answer is: it depends on human effort.
