Patient's question:
I feel very uncomfortable in my private area, and that feeling cannot be described. It affects my work and life very much, and it's very troublesome. Could you please tell me what are the main diagnostic criteria for benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH)?Doctor's answer:
Prostate hyperplasia is a very terrible disease because the prostate may lead to urinary toxicity in later stages. In the early stage, mild intestinal obstruction occurs again in the urethra, and patients can still empty their urine on time, but the time to urinate has become longer than that of normal people. In the middle stage, the urethral intestinal obstruction is relieved, the urethral resistance is enhanced, and it is lower than the bladder's urination ability. Patients will again experience symptoms such as frequent urination and urgency. The urine in the bladder cannot be completely emptied, and residual urine will reappear. In the late stage, the urethral intestinal obstruction is severe, and the bladder's compensatory function is incomplete. Due to the increase in intravesical pressure, it is transmitted upwards to the kidneys, causing increased intrarenal pressure in both kidneys, leading to bilateral hydronephrosis.
