What are the symptoms of orchitis?

Patient's question:

Doctor, I've been experiencing testicular pain and itching recently. When I went to the hospital for a check-up, I was diagnosed with orchitis. What are the symptoms of orchitis?

Doctor's answer:

Orchitis can be divided into acute orchitis and chronic orchitis. Acute orchitis is primarily characterized by sudden onset, high fever, chills, pain in the affected scrotum, tightness and redness of the skin, swelling, urgency and frequent urination, and significant tenderness, which may be accompanied by second-degree neurilemmal cysts. Chronic orchitis generally does not present with systemic symptoms, and the testes gradually swell, forming a mass. For orchitis, early intravenous administration of large doses of broad-spectrum effective antibiotics should be used to control inflammation and reduce the recurrence of purulent orchitis and testicular abscesses. Wishing you good health!
