Features: This dictionary is further revised and improved based on the 9th edition, which won the Honor Award of the National Book Award and the Special Award of the National Lexicography Award. It mainly adds some new words, new meanings, new examples, and a small number of head entries. Some outdated and inaccurate content has been corrected according to national standards, and some obsolete entries and examples have been removed. Some illustrations and appendices have been supplemented and revised, and the format of the entire book has been standardized. The revision scope reaches one-third. Additionally, Pinyin staircases have been added for easy reference. The 10th edition has further improved in terms of scientificity, practicality, standardization, and conciseness compared to the 9th edition. The first edition of Xinhua Zidian was published in 1953, making it the first dictionary after the founding of New China to use vernacular definitions and examples. It is also the most influential and most authoritative small-scale Chinese dictionary to date, serving as a model for small-scale Chinese language and literature dictionaries. Xinhua Zidian has already been printed 400 million copies, making it the best-selling reference book in the world.
