What should I eat if I have ADHD?

Patient's question:

My child is 5 years old, a girl, and has been very well-behaved. However, recently she has become very irritable and seems to have boundless energy. We took her for a check-up, and the doctor said she has ADHD.

Doctor's answer:

The onset of ADHD in children is related to the amount of amino acids in their diet. Children consuming foods high in tyrosine or tryptophan, such as donkey meat, pork jerky, duck feet, fish fillets, scallops, dried scallops, cheese, soybean skin, tofu skin, and pumpkin seeds, may develop ADHD. Additionally, some international scholars believe that this condition may also be linked to children consuming excessive amounts of sugar and sweet foods. Excessive sugar intake can often disrupt endocrine system function in the body, leading to ADHD in children. Certain foods containing methyl salicylate are also unsuitable for children with ADHD.
Being active is not necessarily ADHD. ADHD is a type of neurological disorder. Not every child who is active has ADHD. You should take your child for a checkup.
