How can we better prevent prostate calcification?

Patient's question:

During the routine physical examination at my workplace, it was found that I have prostatic calcification. However, I haven't felt any discomfort in my daily life. Since there is an issue, I still hope to get it treated. Could you please advise on how to better prevent prostatic calcification?

Doctor's answer:

Prostatic calcification and fibrosis are scars left behind after recurrent prostatitis, where the prostate has healed with inflammation. These are often precursors to prostatic calculi. Prostatic calculi are frequently accompanied by chronic prostatitis, and these inflammatory conditions can usually be detected through careful ultrasound examinations. Due to the unique anatomical structure of the prostate, there is generally no effective treatment for recurrent fibrosis or calculi.
Bacteria tend to grow on calcified (fibrotic) areas and calculi, which can lead to recurrent prostatitis. This should not be overlooked. Prostatic calcification can be alleviated, but the treatment process is usually lengthy, and relapse is common after recovery. Therefore, active cooperation with the doctor during treatment is essential.
