Is my child growing too fast and is it easy to lack calcium?

Patient's question:

Please ask if my child is almost 4 months old. At birth, he weighed 6 pounds 8 ounces 8, now nearly 20 pounds. Is he growing too fast? Is he getting taller too? Is it easy for him to be calcium deficient? Can I supplement him with soluble marine calcium? Thank you

Doctor's answer:

You can take your baby to the hospital for some tests. A small amount of hair will be enough for the tests to determine the zinc, iron, and calcium levels in your baby. My baby is now five months old, and both weight and height are growing rapidly. Since it's winter, we can't go out in the sun. As long as we ensure adequate milk intake and calcium supplementation, cod liver oil will be sufficient. Don't worry too much about this. It's also best to take your baby outside more often for sun exposure, as it will promote calcium absorption.
