Features: This book is the revised sixth edition of the listening course. The entire book consists of 15 lessons and is designed for students taking the College English Test Band 6. After every 7 lessons, there is a mid-term test, and after the 15th lesson, there is a final test. The student book lists the key training skills for each lesson, providing specific requirements for listening and speaking. It includes three parts:
Part 1 is the core of each lesson, focusing on listening to recordings, written exercises, and oral practice. Before the formal exercises, language points are listed, including words, phrases, and sentence patterns, with Chinese translations provided. The phonetic transcriptions are also given for the words. It is required that students preview the material before class to overcome language barriers and ensure smooth teaching.
Part 2 consists of listening appreciation materials, designed to cultivate students' sense of language and enhance their interest in learning in a relaxed language environment. The content mainly includes songs, poems, humor, riddles, tongue twisters, etc. This part does not count for grades.
Part 3 is the listening improvement training. It consists of a short passage and five multiple-choice questions, aimed at further developing students' listening comprehension skills.
