Where to go for varicocele treatment

Patient's question:

I am really suffering. I have varicocele for many years, and have tried many methods without success. Now I feel that my testicles are starting to atrophy, and the pain is getting more and more unbearable. If this continues, my later life will be ruined. It's truly too painful. Please ask: Where can I go for varicocele treatment?

Doctor's answer:

Hello:
When varicocele occurs, due to blood stasis in the spermatic veins, it can lead to an increase in scrotal temperature, causing the testicular temperature to drop by 1℃ to 2℃. Persistent long-term temperature elevation can interfere with sperm production in the testes, resulting in azoospermia and oligozoospermia. The epididymis also helps in the maturation of sperm. It is more common in young and middle-aged adults. The incidence of left varicocele is higher. Individuals with asymptomatic or mild symptoms can wear elastic pants or use a scrotal support band. Men with severe symptoms and those with varicocele accompanied by sperm abnormalities should undergo surgical treatment. Currently, surgical treatment is the most direct approach. The treatment of primary varicocele should be based on whether the patient has accompanying infertility or abnormal semen quality, as well as whether there are clinical diagnostic symptoms.
