How to treat benign prostatic hyperplasia to get better

Patient's question:

I got married last year, and recently I've been feeling weak in my sexual performance. Also, when I go to the bathroom, I've noticed that my urine is cloudy, and there's a bit of pain at the urethral opening. The check-up suggested it might be prostatitis. I'm really worried because I haven't had children yet. Could you please tell me: How can benign prostatic hyperplasia be treated to improve?

Doctor's answer:

Generally, there are several reasons that can lead to frequent urination. They can be roughly categorized into the following types:
1. Increased Urine Volume: Under physiological conditions, such as drinking a large amount of water, an increased fluid intake leads to a continuous increase in urine volume, which in turn results in more frequent urination. In pathological conditions, such as some diabetic patients or those with diabetes insipidus who drink a lot of water, the urine volume and urination frequency also increase.
2. Inflammatory Irritation: Acute cystitis, tuberculous cystitis, urethritis, pyelonephritis, and vulvitis can all cause frequent urination. Under inflammatory irritation, symptoms such as frequent urination, urinary urgency, and dysuria may occur simultaneously, which are collectively referred to as urinary tract irritation syndrome.
3. Non-Inflammatory Irritation: Such as urinary tract stones or foreign bodies.
