Is there a good treatment for phimosis?

Patient's question:

My first sexual experience was quite unpleasant, and I didn't feel much pleasure afterward. I think my foreskin might be slightly adhered, and even when it's erect, it doesn't fully reveal itself. I believe this could be the reason. Could you please tell me if there are good treatments for foreskin adhesion?

Doctor's answer:

This should be a symptom caused by inflammation of the glans spreading from the foreskin. In severe cases, it may present with shallow small ulcers or erosion, with purulent discharge. This condition primarily requires anti-inflammatory treatment, with erythromycin and tetracycline being the drugs of choice. For trichomoniasis-induced balanitis, metronidazole is the drug of choice. For Candida-induced balanitis, itraconazole or griseofulvin is commonly used. The foreskin can be cured, but the treatment process is generally slow, and it is prone to recurrence after treatment. Therefore, medications must be used according to symptoms during treatment. Additionally, patients should maintain a light diet, avoid spicy foods, and not smoke or drink beer. We hope male patients can recover quickly!
