How to treat prostate calcification

Patient's question:

During a routine physical examination at my workplace, it was found that I have prostatic calcification. However, I haven't felt any discomfort either. Since there is an issue, I still hope to be treated for it. Could you please advise on how to treat prostatic calcification?

Doctor's answer:

One of the reasons for self-healing is that prostatic calcification foci cannot completely disappear, and there is no need to strive for complete disappearance. As long as they are within a certain range, they will never affect the body. Once prostatitis is cured, prostatic calcification foci become hiding places for bacteria, which is also why chronic prostatitis tends to recur and is difficult to treat. Fibrosis does not require treatment. Prostatic calcification foci may be related to stones, but apart from stones, other conditions such as prostatic tuberculosis, recurrent prostatic injury, parasitic eggs, and calcified tumors can also cause prostatic calcification foci. Moreover, normal individuals can also have mild prostatic calcification foci.
