The author then served as a research scholar and visiting fellow in Japan and the United States, where he encountered new research findings in international network news communication. Based on this, combined with his recent research, the author compiled the second edition, integrating both Eastern and Western perspectives. Compared to the first edition, the second edition focuses on supplementing and updating new developments in network communication, research on netizens, website management, and types of network communication. The second edition is also the research outcome of the National Social Science Fund Project "New Developments in Communication Technology and Their Impact," led by the author, and serves as a supplementary textbook to the newly compiled national "Five-Year Plan" key textbook "Network Communication Technology."
