How to treat prostatic cysts

Patient's question:

Male, initially it was just lower back pain, then gradually the lower abdomen and perineum area also started to hurt. Recently, I noticed I have developed a condition where urine streams are split, and urination doesn't seem as smooth as before. Please ask: How is a prostatic cyst treated?

Doctor's answer:

Prostatic cysts are cystic changes that occur again due to congenital or acquired reasons in the prostate gland. Congenital cysts result from incomplete atrophy of the, fusion at the midline, forming a deep diverticulum or cyst below the bladder, with an opening at the posterior part of the prostatic urethra. Acquired cysts are caused by the rigidity of the prostatic stroma, leading to incomplete or intermittent obstruction of the acini, gradually thickening the acinar epithelium, ultimately resulting in retention cysts that can be located anywhere within the prostate or weakly at the neck of the bladder, with a diameter of 1 to 2 centimeters. Smaller, asymptomatic cysts may not require treatment, while larger cysts or symptomatic small cysts can be treated surgically.
