What are the symptoms of granulomatous prostatitis?

Patient's question:

I started feeling that I had frequent nighttime urination and also frequent urination during the day. When urinating, I experienced a stinging sensation, and the amount of urine was not much. I also felt like I couldn't empty my bladder completely, and I had severe pain in my lower back, waist, and abdomen. I suspect it might be prostatitis. Could you please tell me: What are the symptoms of granulomatous prostatitis?

Doctor's answer:

Treatment includes medication, local physical therapy, and surgery, among others. Depending on the underlying cause, drugs such as antibiotics, antihistamines, antitubercular agents, corticosteroids, and immunosuppressants may be used. For cases with local or systemic infectious symptoms and granulomatous prostatitis secondary to specific infections, anti-infective treatment is required, with a typical course lasting 2 to 4 weeks. For patients with asthma or allergies, additional antihistamine and symptomatic treatment should be combined. Surgery is generally not necessary unless there is severe urinary obstruction. The majority of granulomatous prostatitis cases can resolve spontaneously without specific treatment, so if symptoms are mild or absent, no treatment is required, and only close monitoring is needed.
