Features: The admission examination for postgraduate students pursuing the Master of Engineering (ME) degree is divided into two stages. In the first stage, candidates take the National Unified Examination for Master of Engineering Postgraduate Studies (abbreviated as "GCT-ME"). In the second stage, candidates, holding their "GCT-ME" score reports, apply to the universities they wish to attend to participate in tests independently organized by the universities based on their training objectives. Higher education institutions decide whether to admit candidates based on their performance in various tests and evaluation results.
Since 2001, Shanghai Jiao Tong University has consistently ranked among the top in the national admission scores for Master of Engineering postgraduate studies. This achievement includes the pre-examination guidance of supervising teachers in relevant disciplines. The "GCT-ME" Research Group of Shanghai Jiao Tong University has meticulously studied the testing requirements for related subjects of the national Master of Engineering postgraduate studies. Through the accumulation of three years of guidance experience, they have compiled this book, aiming to provide candidates with insights for the examination.
The content of the book is divided into five parts. The first part on language expression is written by Professor Chen Xianyuan; the second part on mathematical foundation is co-authored by Professor He Caixing and Professor Zhang Yi; the third part on logical reasoning is written by Professor Huang Weili; the fourth part on foreign language application is co-authored by Associate Professor Chen Duojia and Teacher Wang Yuexi; and the fifth part contains the 2003 examination questions.
The compilation of this book strictly adheres to the testing requirements of the national Master of Engineering postgraduate studies examination. First, the question types are consistent with the actual examination papers; second, the book provides concise analyses of the problem-solving methods and key points for various question types; third, based on the assessment points, it offers a certain number of practice questions to help candidates prepare for the examination.
The publication of this book has also benefited from the care and guidance of Zhang Weigang and Xiao Cangming of the Graduate School of Shanghai Jiao Tong University.
