Features: On August 29, 1995, the 15th session of the Standing Committee of the Eighth National People's Congress passed the "Sports Law of the People's Republic of China" by a unanimous vote. The birth of the "Sports Law of the People's Republic of China" holds a milestone significance in the history of sports development in New China. It marked the beginning of the legalization of China's sports industry and the entry into a new stage of governing sports according to law. As the first sports law of New China, the "Sports Law of the People's Republic of China" is based on the "Constitution" and aims to develop the sports industry, enhance people's physical fitness, improve the level of sports, and promote the construction of socialist material and spiritual civilization. Adhering to the basic line of the Party and adapting to the fundamental requirements of establishing a socialist market economy system, the law, based on a comprehensive summary of the successful experiences and existing issues in the development of China's sports industry, elaborates on the state's basic attitude toward developing sports. It proposes the principles, tasks, fundamental guidelines, and major measures of sports work; clarifies the responsibilities, rights, and obligations of local governments, sports administrative departments, industry systems, enterprises and public institutions, sports social organizations, and individuals in participating in sports activities and developing the sports industry. The "Sports Law of the People's Republic of China" has had a significant practical impact and profound historical significance on the development of China's sports industry. The ten years since the promulgation and implementation of the "Sports Law of the People's Republic of China" have been a decade of continuous, healthy, and rapid development of China's sports industry. Under the correct leadership of the Party Central Committee and the State Council, with widespread participation and active support from society, accompanied by the continuous development and progress of China's economy and society, China's sports work has achieved remarkable accomplishments. The national fitness system has been continuously improved, and people's physical fitness has generally enhanced; the level of competitive sports has steadily increased, becoming an increasingly important force on the world sports stage; significant progress has been made in sports industry, sports science and technology, education, publicity, foreign exchanges, talent cultivation, and team building. The continuous development of various sports industries has also been a process of continuous improvement and refinement of sports law. At the same time, the progress of sports law has played an important role in ensuring and promoting the healthy and orderly development of the sports industry.
