The series was originally published by the China Renmin University Press and is now published by the Inner Mongolia University Press. For this revision, "Comprehensive Tutorial" has replaced the original "Comprehensive Module", and "Mock Test Collection" has replaced the original "Mock Test Module", while the other modules remain unchanged. The new edition is written in line with the spirit of the new syllabus and incorporates the latest information from this year's exam for revision and adjustment. We believe that the new "English Unified Examination Guidance Series for" will still be a valuable resource for candidates and training course participants.
This book is compiled in accordance with the requirements of the newly revised "National Unified Examination Syllabus for English Proficiency of". It is divided into four chapters: The first chapter elaborates on the linguistic foundation of reading comprehension and introduces the basics of discourse; the second chapter recommends effective reading comprehension methods, techniques, and training steps; the third chapter discusses the practice of reading comprehension, focusing on the principles of exam question-setting and corresponding test-taking strategies; the fourth chapter provides a comprehensive discussion on cloze tests. Each chapter includes an analysis of past exam questions to help candidates better understand the syllabus requirements and question-setting principles, along with numerous practice exercises and detailed explanations for training and improvement.
The reading comprehension section of this book primarily addresses common issues faced by candidates in reading comprehension, such as slow reading speed, lack of understanding of the structure and organization of reading passages, and difficulty in accurately grasping the key points of questions. It aims to help students overcome these challenges and achieve better results in the reading comprehension section, which carries a significant weight in the exam.
The cloze section of the book provides a detailed explanation of the key focus areas and systematic problem-solving steps for cloze tests. It is hoped that candidates will gain a clear understanding of the question-setters' principles and be able to analyze and judge effectively to select the correct options.
