Features: The content of the entire book, except for the introduction, is divided into three parts and thirteen chapters. The introduction primarily elaborates on the research objects and tasks of public health, the history of public health development, the main contents of public health, and the objectives of student public health. Part I discusses the relationship between the environment and health, including the general principles of environmental impacts on health, environmental pollution and its effects on health; the impact of living environments, food, production environments, and psychosocial factors on health, as well as the theoretical basis and measures for improving and controlling environmental factors. Part II covers prevention and health care strategies and measures. Part III focuses on medical statistics methods. This textbook inherits the basic framework or system of previous editions of Public Health. Currently, there are multiple versions of textbooks in this discipline in China, and there are differing opinions on the writing system of textbooks. We believe that for a textbook, what matters most is that the content should align with national conditions and reflect the "three basics," while the writing format is not as important. Based on the fifth edition of Public Health, this edition has supplemented and updated the content of each chapter. For example, in the introduction, the interaction between the environment and the body has been added; the theoretical part of the environment and its relationship with health has been streamlined, and the health benefits of nutrients in food and food safety have been supplemented and updated; relevant content has been updated according to the newly promulgated national occupational disease prevention and control law, occupational health regulations, principles of occupational disease diagnosis and treatment, and occupational exposure limits. In the section on health care strategies and measures, the content on community health services has been enriched, and strategies for responding to public health emergencies have been added. Additionally, clinical preventive services have been introduced. Regarding medical statistics methods, the focus is on simplicity and application, with an introduction to statistical software packages added. The number of public health practice sessions has been increased to 13, for universities and colleges to select based on their actual needs.
