Features: The China Novel Rankings selection event of this year was chaired by Mr. Ma Jicai, President of the Chinese Novel Association. Based on thorough deliberation by the selection committee composed of 25 experts, scholars, and professors, the 2002 "China Novel Rankings" were voted upon, consisting of 3 full-length novels, 10 middle-length novels, and 10 short stories. To ensure fairness, objectivity, and accuracy in the selection process, the entire event was conducted in complete isolation from the outside world. The selection did not consider the fame of the authors, the publications or publishers where the works were published, the age structure or gender ratio of the authors, regional distribution, or personal relationships between the judges and the authors. Instead, controversial works were subjected to in-depth analysis, with opinions freely exchanged, followed by multiple rounds of voting to ultimately determine the rankings for each category of novels based on the number of votes received.
