Features: This book selects four of the most influential national education primers from the Ming and Qing dynasties in our country: "Three-Character Classic," "Hundred Family Surnames," "Thousand-Character Classic," and "Thousand-Family Poems," commonly known as "Three Hundreds and Thousands." "Three-Character Classic": The version selected in this book is the widely used edition annotated by Wang Xiang in the early Qing Dynasty. The historical knowledge section is supplemented based on the revised edition by Mr. Zhang Taiyan. Not only children and teenagers, but also adults with a certain foundation in national education, will benefit greatly from revisiting it. "Hundred Family Surnames": It is not just a simple textbook for learning characters. In its four-character-per-line rhyming text, it contains the thousands-of-years-long surname culture of China. Therefore, reading "Hundred Family Surnames" is like reading history; one can use surnames as an index to "flip through" the biographies of scholars, heroes, and villains throughout the dynasties. As a popular national education primer, the "surname celebrities" cited in this book are mostly ancient wise and learned scholars. "Thousand-Character Classic": It is a four-character rhyming text compiled by Zhou Xingsi, who was then serving as a foreign affairs riding scholar under Emperor Wu of the Southern Qi Dynasty. It covers everything from astronomy and geography to self-cultivation and social conduct, and it remains fascinating to read today. "Thousand-Family Poems": The earliest known edition is the "Selected Thousand-Family Poems of Tang and Song Dynasties by Scholarly Talents, Categorized and Annotated" by Liu Kezhuang, a poet of the Southern Song Dynasty. After the Qing Dynasty, the most influential edition is the widely used version compiled by Song Xie Fangde and annotated by Wang Xiang of the Qing Dynasty. The brief annotations of "Three Hundreds and Thousands" and the "List of Surname Celebrities" in this book are based on the abridged and rewritten edition of "Chinese Primary Education Reader" edited by Mr. Zhang Shengjie and Ms. Jia Huiqin. The brief annotations of "Thousand-Family Poems" are written based on multiple annotated editions and relevant reference books. The traditional thread-bound binding style is elegant and ancient, reflecting the charm of traditional culture, perfectly combining form and content.
