What should be noted when caring for patients with varicocele?

Patient's question:

It seems like I might have varicocele. I feel that one of my testicles is higher than the other, and it's extremely painful. The pain can even be felt when walking. Due to work reasons, I need to walk a lot every day, which has really brought me a lot of suffering. Please ask: What should be noted when caring for patients with varicocele?

Doctor's answer:

Hello. Varicocele can cause a sense of heaviness and discomfort in the scrotum, testicles, and groin area. The symptoms may become more pronounced after prolonged standing or drinking alcohol. For varicocele, a color Doppler ultrasound can confirm the degree and type of varicosity. A subclinical diagnosis (with one vein diameter greater than or equal to 1.8mm and a positive Varicocele Test) can be treated with oral Milsapride tablets or Calcium Doresperine capsules, wearing compression elastic stockings, and avoiding prolonged standing. A clinical diagnosis (with one vein diameter less than 2mm and a positive Varicocele Test) generally requires surgical treatment. Surgery can involve laparoscopic high ligation of the varicocele or traditional high ligation of the varicocele.
