Features: The Yao ethnic group is a historically long-standing nation. Throughout its long history of development, the Yao people, together with their fellow ethnic groups, have jointly built a great motherland. With their hardworking hands and intelligent wisdom, they have created a rich and diverse national culture, adding precious heritage to the treasure trove of human culture. Since 1998, we have been contemplating the initiation of writing the Comprehensive History of the Yao Ethnic Group, aiming to rescue the outstanding cultural heritage of the Yao people and ensure its promotion and development. After more than four years of effort, this manuscript has finally been completed and published, marking a milestone achievement in Yao ethnic studies.
So, the Comprehensive History of the Yao Ethnic Group is already written, why is it still necessary to compile and publish the "Yao Studies Series"? It should be said that compiling and publishing the "Yao Studies Series" was proposed as early as when writing the Comprehensive History of the Yao Ethnic Group. However, due to considerations of funding, manpower, and other factors at the time, this matter was postponed. Therefore, compiling the series is not based on subjective desires or fleeting emotional impulses, but rather on a comprehensive consideration of various aspects, taking into account the current state of Yao ethnic studies, as well as the needs and possibilities.
