Rise and fall of Zhuxi

Author: Hong Tiecheng (Compiler)

Publishing Date: 2006-06-01
Features: The book "Chenfú Jǔxī" is compiled based on the above understanding. The entire book revolves around the core content of the research on the "Southern Branch of Wuzhou" and the Confucius Temple of Juxi Kong Clan. It is further structured into three major sections: relevant background information and the current status of the settlements of the descendants of the Juxi Kong Clan. The structure is relatively coherent and rigorous. It should be noted that in the research section, the author primarily presents historical materials, as historical evidence is always more persuasive and credible than personal speculation. However, this approach also has some drawbacks, such as making the section seem tedious to read. This is a limitation of the author's ability, and it is impossible to achieve the best of both worlds. Since many people contributed to the book, the entire compilation process only took about half a year. However, as mentioned at the beginning of the book, it took a decade of effort from start to finish for the "Southern Branch of Wuzhou" and the Confucius Temple of Juxi Kong Clan. Over these many years, while not too long, they are indeed substantial. Fortunately, the work is now basically complete. What does "complete" mean? It does not mean putting away swords and dismounting horses, but rather considering what the next steps should be. How about it? In my opinion, the next steps should include: the protection and utilization of the Confucius Temple of Kong Clan, the renovation and environmental improvement planning of the old village of Juxi, the further collection and organization of historical and literary materials on the "Southern Branch of Wuzhou," the study of the history of the Kong Clan in Juxi, and the profound and boundless Confucian studies that will never reach an end.
