A Strange Incident
In this vast world, nothing is unusual. Some newspapers often promote strange news and odd events, but I never really believed them. However, a few days ago, I personally experienced a strange incident. On a Sunday morning, I was fast asleep, trying to make up for the sleep I had lost during the week, but my mother kept urging me and my sister to get up quickly. So, I hurriedly dressed, rushed to brush my teeth, and dashes off with my mother to my grandmother’s house in a mountain town tens of miles away.
When I entered my grandmother’s house, I was taken aback—how beautiful it was: Electric paper decorations were hung in the center of the living room; a "Double Happiness" character was pasted on the opposite wall; the sofa and chairs were all freshly renovated, exuding a festive atmosphere. I was baffled—whose wedding was this? I searched my memory, but couldn’t figure it out for a long time.
"Stupid girl, what are you standing there for? Hurry up and see your grandmother!" my mother tapped me. I asked my mother in confusion, "Mom, who’s getting married?" My mother glared at me, "Stop asking so many questions—you’ll find out soon enough." Angered, I sat to the side.
Gradually, the guests arrived. My mother, aunt, and younger sister ran around, busy with preparations, but my grandmother was nowhere to be seen. Strange—usually, when guests came, my grandmother was always bustling around. What was wrong today? Had she fallen ill? I quickly entered my grandmother’s room, only to find it already crowded with people.
"Ah, why are most of them elderly people?" I wondered. What was wrong with my grandmother today?
