Features: This book is a textbook for higher vocational and technical colleges, focusing on communication-related majors. It aims to be easy to understand, illustrated, and practical, avoiding complex theoretical derivations while emphasizing the understanding and application of conclusions. Compared to other mobile communication principle textbooks in general universities, it includes additional content on mobile communication equipment and its maintenance. The book is divided into three parts, with a total of nine chapters.
Part 1, consisting of Chapters 1 to 5, primarily explains the basic principles of mobile communication, including its characteristics, working methods, classifications, system composition, and frequency band usage; the propagation characteristics of radio waves, mobile channel features, field strength estimation, and wireless link budgeting; the causes and classifications of interference and noise, as well as methods to overcome them; relevant technologies of digital mobile communication—modulation techniques, multiple access techniques, voice coding techniques, channel coding techniques, interleaving techniques, and anti-interference techniques; and mobile communication network systems, service area division, channel configuration, and network structure.
Part 2, consisting of Chapters 6 to 8, introduces the principles of several typical digital mobile communication systems, including the composition, numbering, air interface principles, mobility management, and call control of the GSM system; key technologies in the CDMA system—spreading technology, power control technology, RAKE receiving technology, and soft handover technology; and also covers three broadband CDMA wireless transmission technologies.
Part 3, consisting of Chapter 9, primarily introduces the principles and usage of common mobile communication equipment, including the principles and maintenance of the Ericsson digital base station BRS2000; the basic principles, performance parameters, and selection criteria for common antennas; the role, classification, and performance parameters of repeaters, as well as their usage in different scenarios; and the working principles of mobile phones and the maintenance of common mobile phone models.
This book can also serve as a reference for engineers, engineering management personnel, network operators, and planning and design personnel engaged in mobile communication work. The book is divided into three parts, with a total of nine chapters, primarily explaining the basic principles of mobile communication, including characteristics, working methods, classifications, system composition, etc.; introducing the principles of several typical digital mobile communication systems, including the composition, numbering, air interface principles of the GSM system, etc.; and introducing the principles and usage of common mobile communication equipment, including the principles and maintenance of the Ericsson digital base station, antennas, and repeaters.
