Patient's question:
These past few days, I've been experiencing some diarrhea, and there's always a small amount of feces coming out with my anus. Even after cleaning it, it happens again after a while. Could you please ask the expert what might be causing this? Duration and onset of this condition: 1-2 daysDoctor's answer:
Children with diarrhea are most commonly found in infants under the age of two. After onset, they are prone to lose qi and yin, and severe cases may develop dangerous complications. If prolonged, it often leads to malnutrition, delayed growth and development, and conditions like xuanji (dyspepsia). Diarrhea is also known as indigestion. Abdominal massage can be performed on the baby, and attention should be paid to care during the massage. Feeding should be regular and in appropriate quantities, avoiding unclean food. The abdomen should be protected from cold, and the anus should be washed with warm water after each bowel movement. Breastfeeding should be frequent.
