Patient's question:
I used to have epididymitis. The symptoms include testicular pain, a sense of heaviness and swelling, and sometimes a lack of energy and fatigue. How can I confirm whether it is epididymitis?Doctor's answer:
Hello, epididymitis is usually caused by incomplete treatment of acute epididymitis. The symptoms of orchitis mainly include: tenderness in the groin area, reduction in the size of the scrotum, redness and swelling of the skin, formation of abscesses, the skin appearing dry, thin, peeling, and the swelling can rupture spontaneously. If follow-up is timely, the hardened epididymis and testis have a clearer boundary. However, a few hours later, the testis and epididymis become a solid mass. The cords become thicker due to edema. A day later, secondary hydrocele may appear, and there may be secretions in the duct. In cases of epididymitis, the epididymis undergoes fibrosis again, and the area becomes hard. Under the microscope, it is evident that scars form within the epididymal tissue, the seminiferous tubules are not well-connected, and there is a certain infiltration of lymphocytes and plasma cells. The clinical manifestations of epididymitis are not severe, presenting as dull pain and discomfort.
