Features: The emergence and variability of the "Song-style" () have led to its uncertainty and ambiguity. When scholars review its nature, content, and scope, they have been engaged in ongoing debates. These controversies have, on one hand, gradually deepened the understanding of the poetic form of the "Song-style," while on other hand, they have given rise to the impression that the "Song-style" is a concept difficult to define, making the study of its poetic form exceptionally complex. This book will be based on an examination of the creative practices of the "Song-style" and will strive to incorporate the theoretical research achievements of past generations. On this foundation, it aims to further advance the study of the poetic form of the "Song-style" and, ultimately, make its poetic form more clearly defined. To better accomplish the aforementioned research objectives, this book is divided into three parts: "Tracing Origins," "Developing Flows," and "Defining Names," each focusing on the "Song-style" before the Tang Dynasty, the "Song-style" during the Tang Dynasty, and the poetic concept of the "Song-style," respectively. Grounded in the actual conditions and historical development of poetic creation, and fully drawing on the research findings of historical scholars, the arguments will be presented progressively.
