Features: The first 8 chapters of this book are written as a textbook for the "Microcontroller Recognition and Practice" course for lower-division undergraduate students in electrical engineering. The purpose is to enable students to quickly get started and begin practical activities as soon as possible, even if they do not yet possess relevant knowledge such as microcomputer principles. The book emphasizes the diversity and personalization of microcontroller applications. Starting with supplementary hardware knowledge, it explains how to design a basic hardware system, thereby setting up basic hardware development conditions without using a simulator. From writing simple microcontroller monitoring programs, it explains how to use C language for microcontroller programming, establishing a software development environment—guiding readers to quickly get started from both hardware and software perspectives. The last 4 chapters are suitable for embedded application engineers and can also be referenced by college graduate students. First, it describes how to run the embedded real-time operating system μC/OS-II on an 8-bit microcontroller, providing monitoring program source code in C language to build a complete embedded software development environment. Then, taking the newly emerging S08 microcontroller as an example, it provides device driver programs for each I/O module. Finally, it discusses low-power design methods for application systems. The book also introduces the advanced BDM debugging method for microcontrollers, which is equally applicable to 16-bit and 32-bit microcontrollers. This book can be used as a textbook for undergraduate or graduate students in electrical engineering-related fields studying microcontrollers, or as a reference for microcontroller development engineers and enthusiasts.
