Features: This work is further revised and completed based on my doctoral dissertation. Research on authority has already produced some domestic and international achievements. However, there are almost no works dedicated to the issue of party authority. Therefore, choosing The Theory of Party Authority as the topic for my doctoral dissertation was also a significant challenge for me at the time. After completing my doctoral dissertation defense, I joined the Central Party School for work. In the two years that followed, I reflected further on the issues of parties and authority and published some related articles. On January 5-6, 2006, the Sixth Plenary Session of the Central Commission for Discipline Inspection of the Communist Party of China was held in Beijing. General Secretary Hu Jintao delivered an important speech at the meeting, emphasizing the need to study, abide by, implement, and uphold the Party Constitution, which means upholding the authority of the Party Constitution and thus maintaining the authority of the Communist Party of China. This meeting and General Secretary Hu Jintao's speech prompted me to further argue and refine many of the viewpoints in the text. With the assistance of China Times Economic Publishing House, this theoretical research work was finally published.
In the era we live in, politics is closely intertwined with our lives, influencing our worldview, life philosophy, and values. General Secretary Jiang Zemin has repeatedly emphasized the importance of paying attention to politics. Understanding and participating in politics is a responsibility of every citizen. In real life, politics primarily manifests as the policies and activities of political parties representing certain stages, social groups, and social forces in national and international affairs. Due to the vastness of the country and its large population, most citizens need certain channels and bridges to communicate with national politics. The emergence and development of political parties undoubtedly serve as such bridges and pathways. Drawing on domestic and international research on parties and authority, this paper aims to study party authority from the following aspects:
- Introduction: This section primarily discusses the purpose and significance of researching party authority.
- Chapter 1: Discusses parties and the party system.
- Chapter 2: Discusses authority and party authority.
- Chapter 3: Discusses the formation of party authority.
- Chapter 4: Discusses the legitimate basis of party authority.
- Chapter 5: Discusses the pathways through which parties obtain authority.
- Chapter 6: Discusses the maintenance and consolidation of the authority of the Communist Party of China.
