Patient's question:
I am 32 years old this year. During the health check-up at my workplace, I was carefully diagnosed with mild benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH). I would like to know what are the treatment methods for benign prostatic hyperplasia?Doctor's answer:
Early symptoms of benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH), also known as prostatic hyperplasia, is the adenomatous fibrosis of prostate cells surrounding the urinary tract. The recurrence of inflammation in BPH is often caused by factors such as reduced testosterone levels in the body, spicy diets, excessive alcohol consumption, smoking, overexertion, poor rest, and frequent urinary retention. These factors lead to fibrosis of the prostate tissue, narrowing the urethral orifice, which in turn causes symptoms such as frequent urination, incomplete emptying, hesitancy, and continuous dribbling. It is recommended to reduce the intake of spicy foods, quit smoking and drinking, consume more fresh fruits and vegetables, drink plenty of water, and undergo a prostate ultrasound and a detailed examination of prostatic fluid to confirm the diagnosis.
