Features: A role in "Do You Love Me?" brought Yuan Bin into the spotlight of fans. In the drama, Yuan Bin played a photography student, and to match the character, he deliberately grew his short hair long. With his tousled hair, sensual lips, and dreamy eyes, he became the fantasy object of young women. In 1995, Yuan Bin stood out in the th Korean wireless TV newcomer selection competition. After five years of debut, he had relatively few film and advertising projects, making him a rare idol star in terms of production. Some claimed that Yuan Bin was not actively taking roles because he was still too inexperienced in acting. For this, Yuan Bin modestly admitted, "I am indeed not very familiar with handling lines." Therefore, to strengthen his acting foundation, Yuan Bin took acting classes, which lasted for a full year. Upon returning to work, he landed the role in "Do You Love Me?". Yuan Bin's well-rounded performance after his "recharge" left audiences impressed, and the media praised his dedication. Becoming a Korean idol star in 2000 not only pushed Yuan Bin's career to its peak but also allowed him to collaborate with Wu Qianlian in Hong Kong, giving him the opportunity to hone his acting skills with Hong Kong actors. At the end of 2002, a popular Korean film website published a poll titled "Who Will Be the Most Influential Korean Film Star of 2003." Yuan Bin secured 14.7% of the votes, establishing him as the trendsetter of the Korean entertainment industry in 2003. Following the Korean "wild trend" that swept Hollywood, the main direction of the Korean film industry in 2003 shifted to: retro youth comedies. What does this concept of style entail? It includes light-hearted, humorous elements in the plot, as well as tear-jerking fairy-tale-like love vows set in reality, all combined with a romantic, fresh, and vibrant youth rhythm. In other words, the theme word for the Korean film industry in 2003 was: retro, youth, and sensuality. Korean fans couldn't help but smile at this, for "retro" was embodied when he wore a white shirt, outlining the pure love that had long been ingrained in their hearts; "youth" was reflected in the gentle curve of his lips, creating a clear ripple of emotion; and "sensuality"? It was the return of his wandering gaze—this positioning seemed tailor-made for Yuan Bin, the prince who embodied all three. Yuan Bin, hailed as a combination of Takeshi Kitano and, not only captivated film fans but also won the hearts of many actresses in the industry. His fame spread across Korea and Japan, and he was far from satisfied. In a global beauty poll conducted by an international website in April 2002, Yuan Bin even defeated numerous Hollywood male stars to be elected as the world's handsome man. From "Korean heartthrob" to "world heartthrob," Yuan Bin, riding the "Korean wave," was unstoppable wherever he went.
