Features: This book consists of 11 parts, each a specialized topic. Part "The Scope and Methodology of Jurisprudence" includes "Law and Science" written by Dr. Zhang Demiao of Zhongnan University of Economics and Law, and "Law, Jurisprudence, Beauty, and Aesthetics" by Dr. Deng Shaoling of Shanghai Jiao Tong University. These chapters were completed based on their respective doctoral dissertations. Another chapter, "Some Thoughts on the Direction of Jurisprudence," was written by me and is based on a speech I delivered at a national conference in 1999. The second and third parts, "Research on Contemporary Legal Thought," include both international and domestic perspectives. The international section includes "The Postmodern Turn in Current American Jurisprudence," written by me, which is a result of my project "Research on Contemporary Western Postmodern Jurisprudence" under the Ed.D. program. The domestic section includes "Contemporary Russian Legal Thought" by Dr. Zhang Junjie of Minzu University of China, "The Characteristics of Modern Japanese Theoretical Jurisprudence" by Dr. Chen Gen of the Institute of Law, Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, and "Contemporary Social Democratic Legal Thought" by Dr. Yang Xiaoqing of Renmin University of China.
