Features: The Marriage Law of the People's Republic of China was passed by the 21st session of the Standing Committee of the Ninth National People's Congress on April 28, 2001, and came into effect upon promulgation. In accordance with the revised Marriage Law, we have accordingly modified some content of this textbook to make the subject matter more systematic and complete, in order to adapt to the changes in China's marriage and family system and the needs of social development. The revised and added content mainly includes the following aspects: , In the basic principles, the principles of prohibiting domestic violence and prohibiting bigamy have been added, as well as the principles of mutual fidelity between spouses and maintaining family harmony and civilization; Second, the invalid marriage system has been added; Third, the scope of joint property and personal property of spouses has been expanded, and the system of property agreement between spouses has been improved; Fourth, the conditions for the court to grant divorce, the supplementary principles of divorce, and the principle of fault-based compensation for divorce have been added. Additionally, revisions have been made regarding the prohibited conditions for marriage, the right of special subjects to file for divorce, the parents' right to visitation after divorce, and legal liability. The fifth chapter "Measures for Assistance and Legal Liability" has been added in accordance with the revised Marriage Law. [Editor's Recommendation] To meet the demand for legal talent in China's socialist modernization construction and the implementation of the strategy of governing the country according to law, and to comprehensively improve the quality of legal professionals, we have reviewed and revised the original textbooks in accordance with the new teaching plan of higher political colleges. This series of textbooks is guided by Deng Xiaoping Theory, incorporates new achievements in domestic and international legal education, adheres to the principle of linking theory with practice, and strives to systematically and accurately explain the basic principles and fundamental knowledge of each discipline.
