Is premature ejaculation a general manifestation of kidney deficiency?

Patient's question:

I am 29 years old. I started masturbating at the age of 17 and did it quite frequently. Recently, my family introduced me to a partner, and everything seems fine, except that I've realized I might have premature ejaculation. I think it might be due to my past masturbation habits. I am really suffering now. Could you please tell me: Is premature ejaculation a general symptom of kidney deficiency?

Doctor's answer:

Most cases of premature ejaculation are psychogenic. If it's due to kidney yin deficiency, traditional Chinese medicine should be taken. The main symptoms of kidney yin deficiency include soreness in the lower back and knees, weakness in the legs, irritability, dizziness and headache, emaciation, insomnia and frequent dreams, flushed cheeks with feverishness, thirst, dry throat, premature ejaculation or prolonged erection in men, hypersexuality, nocturnal emissions and premature ejaculation, reduced menstrual flow or amenorrhea, leukorrhea, and infertility in women.
Kidney yang deficiency is characterized by pale or dark complexion, soreness in the lower back and knees, weakness of the muscles and bones, fatigue and lack of energy, listlessness, heavy body, reduced libido, cold limbs, aversion to cold, susceptibility to cold with nausea and vomiting, and edema. In women, symptoms may include infertility, enuresis, and edema with low libido.
