Patient's question:
I have had prostatic hyperplasia for a while now and have tried many methods of treatment, but none have been able to completely cure and recover. Recently, it has even worsened, troubling me for a long time. I am worried that if I continue to delay, it will become even more severe. How can I better treat prostatic hyperplasia?Doctor's answer:
Asymptomatic prostatic ectopia can be conservatively observed without the need for surgery. Urethral prostatic ectopia, often presenting as polypoid morphology, can be cured with simple electrocautery treatment, with no recurrence or malignant transformation postoperatively. Prostatic ectopia within the bladder can also be treated with electroresection or electrocautery. For larger bladder prostatic ectopias, open enucleation can be performed. Postoperative follow-up is emphasized. Ren Laicheng reported a case of bladder prostatic ectopia. After open enucleation, cystoscopy one year postoperatively revealed recurrence at the original site. The patient underwent a second procedure involving combined prostatectomy, and there was no recurrence after this surgery.
