Purpose: The intention of this tutorial is to provide students with an easy and effortless method for learning the piano.
Scope: The range of notes covered in each book is consciously limited. Only five notes above and five notes below Middle C are introduced, and the duration of notes ranges from whole notes to quarter notes, without further expansion. This allows for the inclusion of many review pieces in the form of examples, eliminating the need for additional supplementary materials. In summary, each book in this series maintains its own integrity, with its own writing exercises, sight-reading exercises, and review pieces. Technique exercises will also be added in later books.
Accompaniment: Most examples in the book are accompanied by accompaniment scores for teachers and parents. They are carefully crafted to make simple pieces sound as much like excerpts from larger-scale compositions as possible. This approach offers many benefits: not only can the pieces be played in different keys to avoid always lingering in C major, which can become tedious, but it also allows teachers and parents to influence students with their own strict tempo and clear rhythm, especially when students play with a vibrant sense of rhythm. This helps students "feel" the presence of rhythm from the very beginning.
Grading: Each book in this tutorial does not represent a specific level. They are simply divided into Book 1, Book 2, Book 3, and Book 4 in order. The division of the course is not based on the number of pages. Some students can master many pages in one lesson, while others may only learn one page. This tutorial is designed to be taught "step by step" rather than "lesson by lesson." The amount each student can understand and absorb in one lesson is entirely up to the teacher to decide, as only they are qualified to do so.
