Features: This standard is revised and adopted from Japanese Standard JISK1428-58 (confirmed in 2002) "Zinc Chloride" (Japanese version). This standard was reissued based on Japanese Standard JISK1428-58 (confirmed in 2002) "Zinc Chloride". When adopting JISK1428-58 (confirmed in 2002), this standard made some modifications. The technical differences and structural differences have been incorporated into the main text and marked with vertical single lines in the margin of the relevant clauses. Appendix C and Appendix D provide a table of these technical and structural differences and their reasons for reference. This standard replaces HG/T2323-1992 "Industrial Zinc Chloride". The main technical changes between this standard and HG/T2323-1992 are as follows:

- The qualification requirements for Type III products have been canceled (4.2 in the 1992 edition, 4.2 in this edition);
- The iron content indicator has been adjusted (4.2 in the 1992 edition, 4.2 in this edition);
- The content of heavy metals (expressed as Pb) has been changed to the content of lead (Pb) (4.2 in the 1992 edition, 4.2 in this edition);
- The content of alkali and alkaline earth metals has been added (4.2 in the 1992 edition, 4.2 in this edition);
- The content of barium (Ba) has been canceled (4.2 in the 1992 edition);
- The determination of lead content adopts the dithizone-tetrachloromethane extraction spectrophotometric method (5.6 in this edition);
- The determination method for the content of alkali and alkaline earth metals has been added (5.7 in this edition);
- The determination of lead content has been supplemented with the toluene extraction spectrophotometric method (Appendix A of this edition).
The appendices A, B, C, and D of this standard are informative appendices.
