Breastfeeding page search: My child is two months old. If there is anything, give it to the child

Patient's question:

Page search: My child is two months old. I stopped breastfeeding because of something. During this time, there was always milk, but after ten days, when I started feeding again, there wasn't enough. The child also couldn't suck. How can I restore normal breastfeeding?

Doctor's answer:

Insufficient breast milk is related to various factors, such as failing to achieve early suckling and early lactation initiation, adding formula milk too early which leads to nipple confusion in the baby, insufficient or incorrect sucking by the baby, poor maternal diet, excessive fatigue, tension, anxiety, or depression, lack of confidence in breastfeeding, and postpartum weakness after cesarean section.
First, the mother should maintain confidence in breastfeeding, stay in a positive mental state, have a balanced diet to ensure nutrition, and drink more soups appropriately, such as crucian carp soup, chicken soup, or soybean and pig trotter soup. It is also important to balance rest and activity, ensuring adequate sleep and rest, preferably syncing with the baby's rest schedule. The number of feedings per day should not be less than 8 to 12 times; during each feeding, the baby should be able to take in most of the nipple and areola at the same time; the other breast should be fully emptied before moving to the next; the next feeding should start with the breast that was fed last; and formula milk should not be added lightly. Additionally, consulting a traditional Chinese medicine practitioner and using galactagogues (breast-milk-stimulating herbs) may also be helpful.
