Features: John Thompson Piano Course Series -- John Thompson's Easy Piano Course, Book 4. The main purpose of this book is to give students the opportunity to further enhance their familiarity and application of the knowledge learned in the previous books. For this reason, this book no longer introduces more technical requirements but only presents a few new keys: E major, B major, A-flat major, D-flat major, and G-flat major. The examples related to the new keys are intentionally written to be very simple. The ledger lines between the treble clef are also explained with charts, helping students identify the notes on the ledger lines in an easy-to-understand way. The explanation of dotted quarter notes uses examples in 3/4 and 4/4 time, along with some examples that require finger changes for repeated notes. Of course, this helps expand the range of hand movement and prepares students for the introduction of a new technique in Book 5: the thumb passing under the hand and other fingers crossing over the thumb. When playing some of the later pieces in this book, students are allowed to use the pedal simply and initially, preparing them for the detailed study of pedal art in Book 5. Overall, in addition to the points summarized above, this book is primarily a review book. It should give students the opportunity to fully enjoy the fruits of their hard work so far, while improving their piano playing skills and developing their sense of music and overall understanding of music. When finishing this book, each student will be equipped with the conditions for greater technical progress, and the next book will include longer passages to play. At that time, every effort should be made to play each piece in the book as artistically as possible.
