Doctor, hello. My child is 6 months pregnant and has discovered that there is something in the left brain.

Patient's question:

Fetal left hydrocephalus

Doctor's answer:

Hydrocephalus in the fetus depends on the standard. A normal lateral ventricle width of less than 10 mm does not count as hydrocephalus, while 10-15 mm is considered hydrocephalus. It can also be treated after birth. Some fetuses may spontaneously absorb the hydrocephalus after 31 weeks of pregnancy. Do not worry too much. Mild hydrocephalus can be monitored. If the hydrocephalus does not absorb as the fetus grows, the doctor may recommend induction of labor. If the hydrocephalus gradually disappears, you can continue the pregnancy.
