Complete blood count test shows a low percentage of lymphocytes

Patient's question:

Placental maturity is grade 2, and I'm a bit worried if it's premature. The complete blood count shows an elevated mean corpuscular volume of 96.2, a high percentage of neutrophils at 76.3, and a low percentage of lymphocytes at 17.3. I want to ask the doctor if there is any serious concern.

Doctor's answer:

I indicates the early stage of placental maturity, with uniform echoes, visible at 30~32 weeks of pregnancy;
II indicates that the placenta is approaching maturity;
III suggests that the placenta has matured.
The closer to term, the more mature the placenta becomes, and the more uneven the echoes. Generally, a grade of 2 up to 32 weeks is normal. Subsequent ultrasounds should be monitored closely. If it reaches grade 3, delivery should be expedited, as nutrient supply may no longer be sufficient.
