PASCAL Programming (2nd Edition)

Author: Zheng Qihua
Publisher:
Publish Date: 2005-12-01
Features: Based on the first edition, this book has been revised to make content selection, concept presentation, and example selection more scientific and rigorous. It comprehensively introduces the data types, statements, and structural characteristics of the PASCAL language, systematically explains programming methods, especially the top-down, stepwise refinement structured programming method, and cultivates good programming style and habits. The explanations are designed to be theory-driven, accessible, and easy to understand. The book is divided into twelve chapters. Chapter 1 introduces the necessary basic knowledge. Chapters 2 to 5 introduce the design methods of the four basic structures of structured programs (sequence, selection, repetition, and functions/procedures), as well as PASCAL's standard data types and basic statements. Chapters 6 to 11 introduce various user-defined data types of PASCAL (enumeration, subrange, array, set, record, file, and pointer) and their programming. Chapter 12 covers other remaining topics. Each chapter is followed by exercises. This book can be used as a teaching text for computer programming in computer software, hardware, or other disciplines at universities and colleges, or as a self-study or training manual for technical personnel engaged in computer applications. To complement the book, Professor Zheng Qihua has newly compiled a companion volume, PASCAL Programming Exercises and Selected Solutions (New Edition), for reference during study.
